Midreign

Postby SirEuric on Sun Dec 07, 2008 7:58 pm

Regent Mistress Gwendair has asked how many people are interested in a cooking Smackdown where the Principality provides the basic ingredients and each of you cook the main dishes as we prescribe for Midreign feast.

There will be prizes and the exact idea is not in concrete yet but we are open to suggestions.

my idea was something along the lines of :Here are piecrusts, chicken, mixed vegetables, make me your best chicken pie where you have the freedom to add anything you want.

Let me know your opinions and if you are interested in participating by saturday December 13th that way we know which direction we are going on the feast for midreign. If no one is interested in the Cooking Smackdown(there will be cooking related prizes) Mistress Gwendair has several menus for feats.

edit: Official date is February 21st at Wavehaven. Day-time activities at Frederick Street Park and the feast and court to be held at the Louden Nelson Community Center. Heading north on Frederick Street from the park, hang a left onto Broadway (the first stop sign). Continue on Broadway down the hill and over the bridge. You will see the Community Center on your right. Park on the street where ever you can. Go to the front of the building and someone (or some sign) will be able to guide you to our room.

I would like to participate, as well. Even if it is not midreign feast, I think it could be fun.

I'll bet Leah would be into the idea.

Alas, I am forbidden from entering. Stupid restraining orders. Stupid CDC.

When and where is midreign? Would it also be possible to do desserts? Perhaps stuff like apple pie which is along the same general lines as chicken pie.

If I can make it out to Midreign (awfully close to Spring War) .. I'd definitely be interested in participating in a "cooking smak-down" .. however what kind of facilities are we going to be working with?

I can cook, but trying to make a chicken pie over a campfire seems like it would be a bit outside my skillset.

There will at least be propane stoves. And I think I can provide one dutch oven.

I am interested, though I'm not sure yet if I want to be a participant or asist with running it. In any case, the later the date, the better for me, as it's more likey I'll have a job and be able to afford the trip.

As of right now midreign is set for February 21st. The same day the new Prime Ministers take office. Location will be announced soon. Along with more details about the kitchen we will be using for the cooking Smackdown.

Do we have a finalized date for Midreign yet, and will there be any sort of A&S competition?
