A very Duchy Rebellion

Postby Laoric » Wed May 12, 2010 12:03 pm

Will you go to war with me, brother?

Dateline Crimson Wood

Duke Manananananananan (do doo da doo doo) has decried Prince Deimos a tyrant. In a speech given before his council of nobles he has officially declared war on The Dark One's evil ways. Shortly thereafter all of the Prince's tax collectors were gathered up, tarred and then feathered. Those that survived were sent to ride around the royal palace on a donkey whilst facing backwards. There was much huzzah'ing.

Claiming that for too long has Prince Deimos allowed lawless brigands to run amuck laying claim to local baronies and shires, Duke Manananananananan (do doo doo do) has issued a call to arms to any that would support Crimson Wood in an effort to depose Prince Deimos.

Speaking before a crowd of warriors, Duke Laoric of Wavehaven promised to send aid to Crimson Wood with much haste. He then issued a call for all the nobles and knights of the realm to march with him to defend their sister duchy.

Meanwhile, Deimos gathers his army and makes his way north...

I'm pleased to announce this summer's theme of overthrow will kick off in Crimson Wood on Saturday, May 29th. It will be a day event and will have one themed battle, plus whatever Niveus has planned for battlegames. Refreshments will be served, courtesy of House Stark.

The calendar of events is as follows:
May 29-battle in Crimson Wood
June 27-battle in Thor's Refuge
July 24-battle in Wavehaven
August 14-battle in Seven Sleeping Dragons
September-we will skip this month in consideration of Feast of Mars
October 10- battle in Ashen Spire
The scenario will end in November at coronation when Deimos steps down.

This will be a somewhat fluid scenario, as each battle determines how the next one plays out, culminating with either the entrenchment of Deimos' evil ways or and end to his tyranny (gotta see who runs for Prince). The idea is to foster general travel between the lands for just regular park days.

Volunteers to provide food/drink will of course be taken, but otherwise the plan is to have them available for each day.

I look forward to seeing as many people in Crimson Wood in three weeks!

This is our Saturday demo at Fanime. If anyone does not plan on attending the Crimson Wood event, I would greatly appreciate your assistance with the Fanime demo.

As a side note, the Saturday demo is actually fairly late in the evening. It runs from 9pm to 10pm. This allows the overly dedicated Amtgardian to be at both events. Just sayin'...

Your August dates - Wyvern's Spur and Ashen Spire both meet Sundays; the 21st is Saturday.

Thanks for the catch, Azus.

As to the Fanime demo, this isn't meant to pull people away from it. If people had committed to that then they should stick with it. However, most California Amtgarders should be used to playing on that weekend a lot. ;)

I'm not sure the event a week before Feast of Mars is going to attract a lot of travelers to SSD.

Methinks you have an ulterior motive to that question, O.

There should be a decent WH contingent. Ted, Hawk, Raf, Fiks and myself at the very least.
