New rule- Garb

Postby caliban_tempest » Fri Mar 18, 2011 3:48 pm

We haven't enforced this much, but I'm going to start, if you want to play a certain class, you need garb and a sash, no more of this "I'm a warrior because I say so." It won't be an immediate thing, but I'm giving people a week or two to get some costume and at least a makeshift sash. I believe this will bring a more authentic feel to our Amtgard practices, rather than just being a bunch of kids in street clothes waving swords at eachother

I'm in.
Does this mean we are enforcing the Peasant Rule?

Also, put the word out, my Amt-brothers; I need to know if one of our park members has access to a sewing machine (not "their mom has one but we can't touch it" kind of thing), so we canget those Tabbards. We have fabric in spades, and patterns, and a vaguely willing regent-protem, but we don't have a magic needle machine.

And we needs us our magic needle machine.

Understood, I wish we would have already found a person in our group who is a competent sewer.

Oh, we have sewers. We need machines.
Can't make a sword without noodle. Can't make fire without fuel. Can't make garb without something to shove thread through in a complicated multilooping manner to hold the edges of cut and shaped cloth together so they resemble a garment rather than just fabric.

Agreed. I tried to hand stitch a tabard. It is leaving my closet in pieces.
