Armor patterns?

Postby Vael on Wed Jun 17, 2009 1:02 pm

Hello there, new Amtgarder here. I've been interested in making some leather armor as a hobby this summer, but I seem to lack patterns. Does anyone have any? Thanks.

I, personally, make my own. The best way is to fashion some poster board over the areas you wish to cover, and trim until it suits. Also, you can do a duct tape mold of your torso, but you will need someone to help you get taped into, and get cut back out of the mold. I am sure they exist somewhere on the internet, but I have yet to unearth any when I looked around (grated I put little effort into it, myeslf).

Good Luck, and I may be visiting your park this weekend, and we can talk more then perhaps.

Fixed, but not Fiks-ed.

Note: It is surprisingly difficult to write that last sentence, as it apparently gets spellchecked away from Punland when submitted without a hyphen.

Apparently Fiks, in verb form, is profanity. :P

making your own pattern is much better. I did the same thing a couple years ago and it came out just fine. It's not the nicest thing I've made but i learned more than if I had used a pattern, and most patterns you have to pay for which I don't like.
