Greetings and salutations; this is your long-errant regent speaking, and I'm here to tell you about Crown Qualifications, affectionately called "crown quals".
Crown Quals will be held on November 7th at the usual park, usual time. Quals consist of both a fighting tournament and an arts and sciences competition. For those bold individuals who are running for a local office, crown quals are required to, well, qualify. However, if you are not running for office, I would still encourage you to submit any garb, crafts, or artwork relating to amtgard - it's fun to bring out your work, and it gives your future officers some competition. The tournament will also be open to all interested parties.
There are several categories in an arts and sciences competition; see below:

If you have any questions about these categories, please feel free to e-mail myself, or ask one of the other officers at the field.
If you intend to submit a written entry, please note that I will require any written entry more than one page long by October 31st. Said written entries should be e-mailed to me by that date.
I am also looking for a few additional judges for the arts and sciences competition. Don't worry about lack of experience; I will be happy to point you towards helpful websites about the philosophy and rules of judging. Again, if you are interested, please e-mail me back.
